Debra's Vision for Arkansas

Debra advocates for policies that strengthen personal responsibility and individual freedom. She commits to listen and make common sense decisions based on evidence — representing her constituents, not a party, lobbyist, or special interest group.

Why Debra is running in 2026

After settling back in Clarksville, Debra talked with neighbors, examined bills sponsored, and saw evidence from the current representative on subjects important to District 45. She is greatly troubled by the influence of lobbyists and money on legislation, and deeply concerned about the blurring of the constitutional separation of powers. She is running again to stand for policies that will truly serve Arkansans.

01

Education & School Choice

Every Arkansas child deserves an education that works for them — with full accountability for taxpayer dollars and outcomes.

Debra is for school choice. Public education works well for most children; however, it does not work for all. Her own son Jonathan, who has Down Syndrome, thrived when he was able to enroll in a private school for children with special needs. His family witnessed significant growth. Debra will listen to both sides of the LEARNS Act and Education Freedom Accounts debate and make decisions based on evidence. She believes in accountability for every taxpayer dollar spent and for measurable outcomes.

02

Small Business & Economic Growth

Small businesses are the heartbeat of America. Remove barriers, end crony capitalism, and let the free market determine winners.

We should create opportunity for entrepreneurial success and remove barriers that stand in the way. Act 510 of 2007 that created the Quick Action Closing Fund should be scrutinized and possibly overturned — current businesses are taxed only to have their hard-earned dollars redirected to attract bigger businesses. Small businesses deserve a level playing field. Crony capitalism in the form of special tax breaks, permits, or grants to specific developers should be avoided. Free market should determine winners and losers, not politicians.

03

Lower Taxes & Property Rights

Lower taxes help families and encourage economic growth. Private property rights must be protected from government overreach.

Debra continues to respect personal property rights — it was the defense of private property rights that first led her into public service on the Benton County Quorum Court. She wants to lower taxes that will help families and encourage economic growth. Any revenue collected over the limit of inflation plus population growth should go back to the taxpayers in some form.

04

Accountable, Limited Government

Performance-based budgeting, spending limits tied to inflation and population, and a strict separation of powers.

Debra will push for performance-based budgeting that unifies government direction, increases information to public officials and constituents on agency performance, and creates a more effective budget process. She will work to limit growth in government expenditures to inflation plus population growth — with any surplus returned to taxpayers. She is deeply committed to maintaining the separate and independent branches of government as the Constitution intended.

05

Prison Reform & Second Chances

Evidence-based programs that reduce recidivism and help those who have been incarcerated return as better citizens.

Debra chairs the board of Pathway to Freedom, a Christ-centered nonprofit based at the Hawkins Unit in Wrightsville whose efforts are transforming lives and reducing the recidivism rate in Arkansas prisons. She will examine what we are currently doing and implement evidence-based programs that work — helping people return to their families and society as better people.

Debra's commitment to you

Debra commits to remember for whom she is working: her constituents. She commits to listen and make common sense decisions based on evidence presented to her. She believes in the sanctity of life, the right to bear arms, and the importance of maintaining separate and independent branches of government as our Constitution intended. She appreciates your input and your vote.
